Night And Low Light Techniques For Digital Photography

Photography, at least for most of us, is perceived as a daylight activity. Except for those special occasions (generally social events) when we use flash, we tend to reserve photography for the sunniest of days. Of course, this is when the world often looks its best. There is some-thing deeply psychological that lifts our mood when the sun comes out—and that works for our photos, too.
This is also something that camera designers, and those that produce film, have taken on board. Most
of the film we use is balanced, in terms of its color fidelity and contrast, for sunny days. Just think of those punchy colors on the vacation shots.

Painting And Drawing Principles And Techniques / John Hagan
Pdf | Eng | 279 Pages | - | ISBN No? | 12.96 Mb
Pdf | Eng | 279 Pages | - | ISBN No? | 12.96 Mb
An apprentice painter might learn how to hold a brush, mix colors or how to use a palette knife, but it matters nothing if the same person does not learn how to 'look' at things, and to look with the eye of someone who wants to explain the world in terms of paint. After many years of learning to 'look' we come to understand the nature of things and how they relate to each other.
This first lesson is an entertaining introduction to give you some idea of what I mean by 'looking'. Don't be too worried if the world I now introduce seems alien at first, because as you progress with the lessonsyou will begin to understand that the real joy of painting is not so much occupying your hands, astruly understanding the laws, the lights and shades, and the memories of all the things around you.

Using BodyPaint, he takes the cavity map from ZBrush and uses it as a guide to create the other maps for the creature. Laurent demonstrates how he experiments with one area of the body and then brings it to a near final stage before duplicating the maps and shaders for the rest of the creature using Photoshop and Max. He then shows how to use BodyPaint to paint over the seams and finalize the textures. Finally, Laurent renders out separate passes and composites them together in Digital Fusion, discussing how this process allows better control of the final image and enables him to test the shaders for scene assembly and lighting.

As I’ll show you in Creative Black & White: Digital Photography Tips & Techniques,
many things are different with the rise of digital technology. Presenting a photo in
black and white is not a consequence of the materials used; rather, it is an inten-tional aesthetic choice. Furthermore, from a technical perspective it almost always
makes sense to shoot and initially process a digital photo in color—even if you plan from
the very beginning to present it in black and white.
